Does anybody remember the nineties band Counting Crows? They have a new album and will go on tour later this year.
And maybe rats and crows are ins some way related, or bands with animal names form some kind of a union, or the Counting Crows are just Boomtown Rats fans – in any case the lyrics to the song "Bobby and the Rat Kings" from this new album go like this:
"When Bobby and the Rat-Kings come to play
We’ll make ‘em stay
We’ll make ‘em play
Play til the stars all fade
It's a good song and certainly a nod in the direction of ' Mondays' at the outro ! and the Wizard of Oz thrown in there too !. 😀

The May weather in the UK is unseasonally hot - more like summer - and I've had a really lazy day today, drinking beers and listening to some vinyl.
After a few records I hadn't played in a while, I put on Blondie's "Parallel Lines". Its a great record - widely considered to be one of the best albums of 1978 - but as good as it was, it didn't reach up off the turntable and grab me...something was definitely missing.
So I reached for another album from 1978 - one I play a lot - "A Tonic for the Troops". Just wow. Blew poor Blondie away.
Praise the Lor' for The Boomtown Rats!!!

I read with great sadness the recent passing of Mike Peters. I enjoyed The Alarm as a live band and possess many of their albums. But it was the reputation, respect and love he built with his fans and other artists that has shown through in numerous heartfelt tributes since his passing. I realised from his wife’s posts, or lack of them, after his last release from hospital that he was probably losing a fight he had fought for over 30 years. Put some Alarm on to remember the man………….and play it loud! RIP MLP
