Boomtown Rats vinyl,what do we know?(part 23)
The 3rd single release from In The Long Grass album was Dave which ended up as Rain in the USA/Canada.
Released as 7” and 12” in the UK and the UK had different copy’s of Dave released only in the UK.
The “normal” release.

A priority promo was released.

A clear vinyl with a concert ticket was also released.

A limited edition double pack I Don’t Like Mondays was also released all on the Mercury record label.

A 4 track 12” was also released with 2 live tracks.Hard Times on the b-side was also on the In The Long Grass Album.

The single was NOT released in Ireland.
Released in Holland as a 7” and released in Germany as both a 7”and a 12” which only had 2 tracks on it. The live track being Banana Republic.

Released in Australia on both 7” and 4 track 12”.
It was NOT released in Japan or New Zealand.
Also strangely released in The Philippines(Only the 3rd single release from The Boomtown Rats in the Philippines)

Strangly in America and Canada Dave became Rain. In the USA An Icicle In The Sun(from In The Long Grass) was on the b-side.

7” promo with Rain on both sides.

In Canada it had a record sleeve(which was rare back then in Canada and America) which was the same as the single Tonight sleeve.
Also like Tonight in the UK Precious Times was on the b-side.


Canada also had 12” promo copy which had Rain on both sides.
